What’s usually included in free or public chat

Public rooms are generally open to anyone (sometimes after a free registration) and let you watch the live stream and, on most platforms, take part in the shared chat. Performers in public rooms are typically supported by tips rather than an entry fee, so the room stays free to watch regardless of whether you tip.

What changes in a private session

A private or one-on-one session is a separate mode, usually billed per minute in tokens or credits, where the interaction is (depending on the platform) exclusive to you rather than shared with the whole public room. What’s actually included — two-way video, specific requests, interactive features — is set by the platform and sometimes by the individual performer.

Group shows and other in-between formats

Many platforms also offer formats between fully public and fully private: a group or “party” show where a limited number of paying viewers share a session, or a goal-based public show where a group tip target unlocks something for everyone watching. These vary a lot by platform, so it’s worth checking how a specific site defines them before assuming they work the same way everywhere.
