What Are Cam Site Tokens?
Tokens and credits are the internal currency most cam sites use instead of charging a flat price — here’s how they generally work.

Why platforms use tokens instead of direct pricing
Rather than charging a fixed dollar amount for each action, most cam sites use an internal currency — usually called tokens or credits — that you buy in bundles and then spend inside the platform. This lets a platform price small actions (a tip, a few minutes of a private show) without processing a separate card transaction for each one.
How you typically buy tokens
Token bundles are usually purchased with a card or another supported payment method, in fixed packages (for example, a bundle of 100 tokens) rather than an arbitrary amount. Larger bundles often work out cheaper per token, though the exact pricing and discount structure is set by each platform and can change. See our guide to cam site payment methods for how the purchase itself is usually processed.
What tokens are usually spent on
Common uses include tipping a performer in a public room, unlocking specific requests or goals, and paying per minute for a private or interactive session. Some platforms also let you spend tokens on extras like recorded content or messaging.
Why the “real” price of a token varies
Because bundle pricing and per-minute rates are both set independently by each platform, the same number of tokens can represent very different real costs depending on where you’re spending them. There’s no fixed, industry-wide conversion rate — it’s worth checking the current pricing on the specific platform before buying a large bundle.
Questions to ask before buying
- What does a bundle of tokens actually cost in your local currency, including any fees?
- Do tokens expire, and does that change if your account is inactive?
- Are token purchases refundable, and under what conditions?
- Is the per-minute or per-action cost in tokens clearly shown before you spend them?
